SAFETY DATA SHEETS

Safety Data Sheets must be provided to employees who work with or in close proximity to hazardous chemical and biological substances and many physical hazards. The following links to reputable university and other databases and search engines can be use to fulfill this important safety obligation to our employees. Layperson interpretation of Safety Data Sheets can sometimes be difficult so feel free to contact EHS/RMS (786-1351 or ayssg@uaa.alaska.edu ) for assistance. You can also refer to EHS/RMS Appendix 8, MSDS Interpretation. On occasion, you may not find a rare Safety Data Sheet at these sites. If that happens, contact the manufacturer of the product to obtain one. Those sheets must be maintained in a hardcopy file or binder which is accessible to all affected employees.
